Young Enterprise - 'All Stars'

A group of Yr12 A-Level Business Studies students have been successful at the Suffolk Area Finals of the Young Enterprise competition. The Yr12 Business Studies students set up their own company ‘Allstars’ producing handcrafted cards and hand-painted shot glasses. Their Business Studies teacher Mr Hinchcliffe was Business Advisor and Link Teacher for the company.

As part of the Young Enterprise competition the students have had to run their own company, submit a 10 page company report with financial accounts, then at the Area Finals evening, present a formal presentation, and finally present a trade stand together with a grilling/interview with 3 judges.

Their success at the Area Finals evening saw them winning 1st place for the ‘Best Presentation’, beating off King Edward VI Grammar school from Bury and Stowmarket High School. The Yr12 Allstars company were overall 3rd place with only 2 points between 1st and 3rd. The judges were highly impressed by the Westbourne Young Enterprise ‘Allstars’ company commenting on how much the students had learnt and that their humorous and confident presentation kept the audience entertained from beginning to end.

The Yr12 students and their company were selected to go through and represent Ipswich at the Suffolk County Finals on 12th May
